Shots were fired by at least one person in the group, striking him multiple times before they got back in the car and sped off, authorities said.

Tripp, of the 1500 block of North Long Avenue, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he died at 2:15 p.m., a spokesman for the medical examiner’s office said.

Earlier Saturday, a 34-year-old man was found shot to death less than a block from his home in the Little Village neighborhood.

About 7:50 p.m. Friday in the Morgan Park neighborhood, Summer Moore, 37, heard gunfire while sitting in a front yard in the 11400 block of South Aberdeen Street, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. She began to run but was struck in the chest, police said.

The most recent nonfatal shooting happened at 7:34 p.m. Sunday. A 16-year-old boy and 28-year-old man were shot in the 1400 block of South Keeler Avenue, police said. The man was shot in the face and chest and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in serious condition. At least 16 other people were wounded in shootings across the city since Friday night. No one is in custody for any of the shootings as area detectives investigate.
