Laura's Likes: Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Posted: Updated:

Mother's Day is this Sunday and if you don't have something yet, you are probably not alone.

These days, it is so easy to do last-minute shopping online and I found a few more things I wanted to share that I think many moms would love.

Lisa Leonard Designs

Lisa Leonard Designs makes the most beautiful hand stamped charms you can wear around your neck with sweet messages on them.

She also has fun little keepsakes from magnets to little plates as well as posters with special messages you can customize.

The best part? Lisa Leonard makes them for a fraction of the price you'll pay with most jewelers.

Prices start at $14 for the posters and $24 for the jewelry.

It's really special and unique -- something here for any mom. Check out her designs on www.lisaleonardonline.com.

SilhouPETte

If mom is crazy for a pet, this might be the perfect gift for her. These gorgeous charms are made by SilhouPETte -- a special way to celebrate her dog or cat.

The come in sterling silver and gold and come in any breed you want. They also do special framed silhouette art -- a wonderful keepsake with a vintage feel.

Custom designs are available too that focus on the tiny details you notice about your pet.

The woman behind this company, Jessica DiPaola was looking for creative gifts to give to friends with pets, but she couldn't find anything interesting. She looked over and noticed her cat's profile and that was her “aha moment.” She immediately got to work creating her first SilhouPETte portrait.

Prices start at $69. You can find them at silhoupette.com.

30 percent of all profits are donated back to feeding animals in need.

If you don't have something in hand, you can do what I do and print off a picture, wrap it up and tell mom this is coming your way soon.

Chocolate-Covered Katie

Here is something you can really do really last minute. Find a great recipe and make something yummy. And have I got the website for you.

On Twitter, I was told about Chocolate-Covered Katie and I have to say I'm obsessed.

This website is full of amazing ideas for healthy desserts. Katie, the fabulous 27-year-old behind this site, has no formal cooking background -- just years of practice in the kitchen.

Katie started the blog when she was a freshman in college. She says it was meant as a way to keep in touch with friends. She ended up writing primarily about her foodie adventures. Other food bloggers started noticing and the blog morphed into something bigger -- with a focus on healthy desserts.

Healthier versions of all your favorites from chocolate fudge to peanut butter pie to cookie dough brownie.

This website lets you satisfy your cravings in a healthier way. Many of them are super easy and mommy pleasers.

You can sign up for free recipes.

Katie is now working on her first cookbook that is coming out next January. She also dreams of having a cooking show one day.
