Posted: Updated:

MTV has already selected the band as a 2014 “Artist To Watch” and premiered the music video worldwide for the title track and first single “Me And My Broken Heart”. Fresh off performances last week on The Voice and Ellen, the band is set to perform the title track first single on the TODAY Show live from Rockefeller Center on May 28th, while the song has already cracked the Top 40 chart coming in at #11 this week and continues to climb also ranking as the # 1 Most Shazzamed new track this week in the US. iTunes has named “Me And My Broken Heart” a Single of the Week and VEVO has chosen Rixton as their April LIFT Artist.

Hailing from Manchester, UK foursome Rixton is:

Lead singer and rhythm guitarist Jake Roche

Bass/keys, backing vocalist Danny Wilkin

Lead guitarist and backing vocalist, Charley Bagnall

Drummer Lewi Morgan.

Jake and Danny started writing together 3 years ago and two years later they were introduced to Charley through mutual friends. A year later they stumbled upon Lewi in a back alley of a Manchester pub (playing pots and pans) and asked him to join the band. Drawing comparisons to Maroon 5, Rixton offer up a wealth of addictive pop/rock/R&B built on their own brand of songwriting, instrumentation and vocal harmonies.

The band has been steadily gaining a large YouTube following from their reimagined covers of tracks including Taylor Swift’s “Trouble”, Rita Ora’s “How We Do (Party)”, Chris Brown's "Don't Wake Me Up" , R. Kelly’s “Ignition” eventually catching the ear of talent manager Scooter Braun. Working with Grammy winning producer Benny Blanco, Rixton are set to deliver their debut album on School Boy/Giant Little Man/Mad Love/Interscope Records later this year.

Fun facts about Rixton: (Source: Wikipedia)

1) Rixton is an English four member Pop/R&B group from Manchester, England signed by Scooter Braun's SB Projects. The band was established in 2012 as Relics before changing their name to Rixton. The band is fronted by the British actor singer Jake Roche

2) Jake Roche and Danny Wilkin started writing together after they left school. They were later joined by Charley through mutual friends and finally Lewi Morgan was the last addition to the band after meeting Jake through a girl he was seeing at the time. The band's initial fame was through cover releases posted on YouTube that attracted the attention of Scooter Braun.

3) Their fame was solidified with "Make Out", an upbeat song that involved the members lampooning famous 2013 music videos such as "Stay" by Rihanna, "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus, "Roar" by Katy Perry, "Applause" by Lady Gaga, "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell and "Beauty and a Beat" by Justin Bieber featuring Nicki Minaj. The video was released on October 22, 2013 but it was never released as a single.

Rixton will be performing at the Roxy on May 13th.
