Cooke suspension served; ready for Game 4

Posted: Updated:

Matt Cooke has served his seven game suspension following his knee-on-knee hit on Colorado defenseman Tyson Barrie which ended his season. Cooke met the media on Wednesday as Minnesota and Chicago prepare for their Game 4 meeting.

While his history seemingly behind him, Cooke’s hit in the first round series was a brutal reminder that no matter how clean he claims his game has gotten, it takes just one hit to muddy the waters.

“I do know and people are entitled to their opinions,” said Cook. “It’s not my job to go out and change people’s opinions. It’s my job to go out and play the way that I can and be successful.”

Head coach Mike Yeo didn’t waste any time after Game 3 confirming Cook will be back in the lineup on Friday.

Game 4 is set for 8:30 p.m. on Friday night at Xcel Energy Center.
