Body pulled from Como Lake identified; no foul play suspected

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

Police have identified the St. Paul man whose body was found floating in Como Lake over the weekend as 49-year-old Michael Joseph Perseke, and they add that no foul play is suspected at this time.

Perseke's body was removed from the water on Sunday afternoon, but investigators have offered no information on how or why he ended up in the popular St. Paul lake.

Police confirm that officers searched the lake 3 weeks ago as part of a missing person's investigation; however, officers have not said whether that case is related.

"It's a little unsettling," David Glass, owner of Black Bear Crossings Cafe, admitted.

Glass called police as soon as he spotted the body floating on Lake Como.

"You could definitely tell it was the top of the head and the hair, so I immediately called 911," he told Fox 9 News.
