After the first two games of their second round series against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Wild find themselves in the same spot they did in the first round series against the Avalanche.
As the series shifts to Game 3 at Xcel Energy Center, the Wild look to find themselves and find a win to pull themselves back into the series. It won’t be easy defeating the defending Stanley Cup champs in four of the next five games, but the Wild can’t look at it that way. It is simply a one game at a time proposal.
The Blackhawks went 1-2 in the first round on the road and enter the Xcel Energy Center in search of a firm hold on the series.
Wild Head Coach Mike Yeo will shuffle his lines tonight swapping Matt Moulson and Nino Niederreiter on the second and third lines. Moulson has been slow to go in the playoffs after being obtained from Buffalo in a deal at the trading deadline.
Chicago is 5-0 when scoring the first goal this postseason. The speedy Blackhawks have also lost their past eight Game 3’s in the playoffs. The Wild have never led in the series through two games, making scoring first tonight paramount.
Game time is set for 8:30 on Friday night at Xcel Energy Center.
