Wild ready for second round matchup against Chicago

Posted: Updated:

The Wild didn’t have much time to celebrate their game 7 overtime win over Colorado. Then again, they probably prefer it that way. Game 1 of the semi-finals against the Chicago Blackhawks begins Friday night at United Center in Chicago. Unlike last season where the Wild were exiled from the postseason in the first round by the Hawks in five games, this year has a completely different feel.

The Wild won the regular season series, defeating Chicago in three of the five meetings and finishing with a 3-1-1 record. Minnesota went 1-0-1 against the Blackhawks in Chicago and 2-1-0 at Xcel Energy Center.

In the Cage:

Illya Bryzgalov will start in goal tonight for the Wild as Darcy Kuemper was injured in the game 7 win against Colorado.

The Series:
Game 1: Friday May 2- at Chicago 8:30 p.m.
Game 2: Sunday May 4- at Chicago 2:00 p.m.
Game 3: Tuesday May 6- at Minnesota – 8:00 p.m.
Game 4: Friday May 9 – at Minnesota – TBD
*Game 5: Sunday May 11 – at Chicago – TBD
*Game 6: Tuesday May 13 – at Minnesota – TBD
