150 gorgeous displays fill Art in Bloom at MIA

Posted: Updated:
The Minneapolis Institute of Arts is hosting Art in Bloom and showcasing over 150 floral displays inspired by works of art in the Institute’s collection.

You can visit the works from Thursday, May 1 through Sunday, May 4.

Thea Adams, a floral designer, says part of the reason she comes back year after year with her displays because her husband likes to see her work on display.

Sisters Susan Brust and Linda Jeffrey chose an owl that dates back to early B.C. and was used for ceremonial wine celebrations and rituals. The pair found a vase from their family’s collection from WWII and crafted an arrangement with the owl in mind.

On Thursday night, Bachman’s will be hosting Flowers After Hours and showcasing floral dresses that represent all four seasons at MIA.
