Tree Smashes Car Driving Along The Boulevard

Posted: Updated:

"The car was definitely totaled. I mean the whole front end was completely smashed and battered," said a witness.

Incredible video of a driver nearly trapped in his car by a fallen tree. It shows a car driving along Rhawn and the Boulevard in the Northeast when suddenly part of a tree comes crashing down on top of it.

"I was in shock because I thought I was pulling up on a fatality," said Gabriel German who pulled up just after it happened. His father-in-law runs the Lukoil gas station where cameras captured the entire thing.

"One of the big branches that's attached to the tree fell off or was knocked off by a freak of nature of the wind because nobody understands where it came from and all they really saw was the car pull up with half the tree on top of it," said German. He says the driver miraculously got out of the car appearing to have only a few scratches on his forehead and face.

"He was kind of like dazed and confused and as you were asking questions you could tell he was a little bit in shock," said German.

Crews sawed the giant tree branches into pieces before hauling it all away. Police say the driver was taken to Torresdale Hospital to be checked out.

"It's definitely one of those things you pull up to something like that and your heart starts racing and you really want to do whatever you can to help a person out," said German.
