DETOUR: Southbound Highway 169 closes between Edina, Eden Prairie

Posted: Updated:

Those who commute on southbound Highway 169 will need to adjust their route as the is now closed for construction and will be through July 3 while crews resurface the road and reconstruct the bridge over Highway 62.

THE CLOSURE

The highway will remain closed between Valley View Road in Eden Prairie and Highway 62, in Edina.

Local traffic will be able to access southbound 169 between Interstate 394 and Bren Road.

Highway 62 will also be closed for three full weekends through September as part of the project.

THE DETOUR

Motorists will be detoured to Highway 212 and Interstate 494. To check current traffic conditions, visit or call 511.

WHAT IS BEING DONE?

The resurfacing project will focus largely on concrete repair that is expected to increase the road's life span, but crews will also:

- Reconstruct the northbound bridge deck over Highway 62
- Resurface the entrance and exit ramps to Valley View Road
- Install guard rails
- Improve drainage system
- Resurface northbound Highway 196 between Bren Road and Valley View Road

The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-September, weather permitting.
