Montevideo man with Molotov cocktails and no terror charges sentenced Monday

MONTEVIDEO, Minn. (KMSP) -

A Montevideo man involved in what the FBI first called a "terror plot" will be sentenced on Monday.

Prosecutors want 25-year-old Buford “Bucky” Rodgers imprisoned for over 5 years but the defense is asking for 2 years or less.

Rodgers pleaded guilty in January to possessing a firearm, Molotov cocktails and a pipe bomb. He was never charged with terrorism.

The FBI said Rodgers was plotting to blow up the Montevideo police station, but he was arrested before he could finish planning the attack.
