Several components came together to produce some locally dense fog Easter Sunday which made for tricky early morning travel but very picturesque.
The fog was the likely cause for a rollover of a semi on I-35W in Lino Lakes.
It was produced by calm winds and lots of low level moisture thanks to melting snow and rainfall that develop across much of the southern and eastern Metro Saturday night.
Much of the state received practically nothing, but a band of light rain set up shop in the metro and managed to pour nearly a half inch of water in some areas.
Check out the rainfall totals below…
This just added moisture to the already saturated low levels thanks to the warm temperatures and the snow melt on Saturday.
I managed to take a few screen shots of our towercam in Eden Prairie as the sun was coming up… they are pretty cool.
The last one is a picture we got from Janice Hackney, one of our viewers in Minneapolis.
I posted all of these on my twitter page as well, just search for @CodyMatzFox9.
