16-year-old boy shot, killed in Rogers Park

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 16-year-old boy was shot dead early Tuesday in the North Side Rogers Park neighborhood, according to police.

The boy was walking on a sidewalk in the 7600 block of North Ashland Avenue about 2:40 a.m. when a gray minivan drove by and someone inside shot at him, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

Keno Blass, of the 3500 block of West Walnut Street, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:03 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

One person was brought in for questioning Tuesday morning. They were later released. The investigation is ongoing.
