1 Shot Dead, 3 Wounded Overnight In Vineland

Posted: Updated:
VINELAND, N.J. -

Four people were shot and one young man was killed overnight, and police are investigating at three different scenes Monday morning in Vineland.

FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce reported live Monday morning from one of those locations in the Cumberland County community.

Police say the first incident happened on Humbert Street, where officers were dispatched for a reported home invasion.

A 20-year-old man was shot and killed on Montrose Street location.  A second male was shot in the ear.

And two more males were reported shot on the 500 block of East Park Avenue. One was shot in the back and is listed in serious condition. The other suffered a foot wound.

At this location, detectives have been walking around a twin-style home, combing the side yards and backyard for clues. The front door remains open while the property is roped off with caution tape.

Again, all three sites are said to be connected. There's no word on any arrests.

FOX 29 News did talk to one young man who was in the area and he said it was actually his friend who was killed in the gunfire overnight. Police were not releasing his identity at this time.

So far, it's unclear what sparked these shootings.
