Some Area Rivers are Rising Above Flood Stage

While many areas won't deal with spring flooding this year, some spots have some high water concerns this weekend as area rivers begin to crest from the snow runoff, and now a little bit of rain. The majority of the issues will sit in western Wisconsin with the Chippewa River getting a couple feet above flood stage in spots, but even the St. Croix and small pieces of the Mississippi will be awfully close to flood stage in the coming days. Below is a map of the overall river gauge levels from across the area, followed by some specific areas that need to be monitored in the coming week, especially if more rain and/or snow enters the picture. Remember that river forecasting is still a tricky business, so take the overall forecasts as just a guide and not a guarantee.
