BREAKDOWN: Justin Holl's game winner

Posted: Updated:

Lost in the "celebration" following the Justin Holl's game winner is the actual shot itself. With nine seconds remaining in the third period with the game tied, the shorthanded Gophers headed up ice. Kyle Rau's shot was blocked right to Holl who had jumped into the play. Holl's let the shot go with 1.2 seconds remaining in the game and it found the back of the net beating North Dakota goalie Zane Gothberg glove side with less than a second remaining. After the official review it was determined Holl scored with 0.6 seconds remaining on the game clock sending the Gophers into the championship game Saturday night against Union.

For the senior Holl, the goal was his first of the season and gave the Gophers their first appearance in the championship game since winning back-to-back titles in 2002 and 2003.
