Come Taste Detroit Shrimp & Grits

WJBK - Come Taste Detroit Shrimp & Grits

Ingredients:

3 cups chicken broth or water

1 lb. of shrimp peeled and deveined

¾ cup yellow grits

5 slices of turkey bacon

½ cup heavy whipping cream

½ lb. of beef smoke sausage

1 teaspoon unsalted butter

½ yellow pepper

¼  teaspoons freshly ground black pepper

½ red peppers

1 teaspoon minced garlic

¼  cup of white wine

1 teaspoon of unsalted butter

1 pinch of dill weed & old bay seasoning

Method:

 Bring Broth to a boil in a medium sauce pan. Slowly stir in the grits add heavy whipping cream with pepper and salt. Cook stirring occasionally until mixture is thickened and grits are tender, roughly around 15-20 minutes. Set aside and Keep warm.

1. Add beef sausage to large skillet over a medium heat; fry sausage until brown. 5-8 minutes.

2. Add green, red and yellow peppers, onion and garlic butter and onions to skillet until the veggies are tender.

3. Add turkey bacon shrimp reduce the mixture with the white wine and allow it to simmer.

4. Allow shrimp mixture to cook for about 5 minute add green onions and serve over grits.
