Adrian Peterson has made his opinion known about college athletes being paid for their services. The former NFL MVP reiterated that again on Wednesday.
"When I was in college, I know personally, as far as jersey sales and ticket sales, I helped make that university a lot of money," Peterson said during a conference call to endorse Hyperice, a recovery icing device he is promoting. "I feel like as much money as universities make, I feel that some of that money should be given down to the players as well because we are the ones that are making this university money."
The issue of student athletes being paid isn't new, but has taken a big step forward in March when the National Labor Relations Board ruled Northwestern University football players on scholarship were deemed employees of the school and were entitled to hold and election to determine if they should form a union.
