VIDEO: Mounds View student-superintendent switch is 4 minutes of awesomeness

Posted: Updated:
MOUNDS VIEW, Minn. (KMSP) -

Every spring, elementary school carnivals in Mounds View School District 621 feature an auction to give a student the chance to become principal for a day.

"This year, the prize was extraordinary. One student became superintendent for a day. With one twist – the superintendent agreed to switch places."

That's the tagline of a YouTube video posted by Mounds View Public Schools, showing the switch made by student Claire Landberg and Superintendent Dan Hoverman.

The video, set to the Hall and Oates hit "You Make My Dreams Come True," goes something like this:

Superintendent Hoverman boards the school bus (in a scene reminiscent of Principal Ed Rooney in the closing credits of Ferris Bueller's Day Off)

Claire settles into her office

Hoverman knows the answer, but doesn't get called on in class

Claire takes executive action (nachos are back on the menu)

Claire works on her golf game

Superintendent Hoverman dominates dodgeball

Claire declares a snow day

Hoverman is not enthused

...then he remembers he's the student
