Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran Aims To Improve His Golf Game After Being Bitten By Rattlesnake

Posted: Updated:

Steven Wiese is lucky to be alive after being bitten by a rattlesnake during his golf game. He had no warning sounds, just a swift snake bite that landed him in the hospital.

Wiese was golfing when he sent the ball in the wrong direction. He went off into some taller grass just off the fairway and just a few moments after he decided to give up on finding it, a snake bit into him.

He felt the bite and discretely told the person he was with. The golf club addressed the situation by flushing the snake out of the pipe it was hiding it and eventually trapping it in a trash can. They plan on releasing it into nature, far from the golf course.

"You can't blame the snake, basically he was telling me to get away from him," said Wiese. "I suppose it would give me a little more incentive to learn to hit the ball on the fairway. Haha."
