Heavy Rain Expected In Our Region

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

FOX 29's Sue Serio says it seems like we are seeing sunshine but it will not be with us too much longer. This is because we have clouds moving in ahead of the rain that we're expecting in this area by lunchtime.

Rain is moving in from the Southwest to the Northeast, and the heaviest of it is right over Atlanta, Georgia. There are also some strong thunderstorms in Alabama. Tornado Watches are in effect for those areas but we don't expect anything that severe in our region. We could hear some thunder in the overnight hours tonight.

Rain will spread throughout the area heavy at times by 6:00p.m and then thunder and lightning possible by 11:00 p.m
