Los Angeles, CA -

(FOX 11 / CNS) An official in UCLA's student government was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, according to a published report.

Omar Arce, the Undergraduate Students Association Council Community service commissioner, was arrested on campus at 10:47 a.m. and booked into the West Hollywood jail about 45 minutes later, the UCLA campus newspaper, the Daily Bruin, reported.

University police received a report about a series of sexual batteries between Oct. 17 and March 8 and the Daily Bruin confirmed a report had been filed against Arce, by another student, who was not named.

Bail for Arce, 21, was set at $50,000, the Daily Bruin reported. Arce is due to appear at the Airport Courthouse on Friday at 4 p.m.

False imprisonment means restraining another person by use of force. UCLA police spokeswoman Nancy Greenstein said she could not comment on the details of the allegations against Arce, a fourth-year international development studies major.
