Observing April Fool's Day?

Posted: Updated:

I logged on this morning and was shocked to see how all of the elaborate things my cyber "friends"  had done for April Fool's Day. Did I miss something? When did April Fools become a major holiday? These things were outrageous, clever and would put Martha Stewart to shame!  I saw pictures of parents'  turning all of the furniture in the house upside down, a kids room covered from floor to ceiling in post it notes and let's not forget the parents who hired an actor to play the "April Fool".  No kidding!  As a new mommy, my reaction went from wonderment to straight panic. How do I keep up with this?

Now don't get me wrong no one loves a holiday like this girl and I absolutely love social media like Pinterest and Instagram for all of the inspiration and creativity I draw from it.  But all of the sudden it seems a holiday isn't complete unless it's totally styled with a gourmet recipe, some kind of flower arrangement in a mason jar followed by professionally filtered picture on Instagram for all to see.  It's exhausting!!

Thanks to all of the access that social media brings the bar has been raised and we can't help but draw comparisons to all of our "friends". Well the joke is on us because nobody is as cool as their Instagram account makes them seem! So I guess we shouldn't sweat it!

In the meantime….Easter's on its way. Better start planning.

It's no secret that Microsoft has struggled in the hardware department so I can't say whether the Surface Pro 3 will be the hero Microsoft needs but I can say it is the modern computing experience users deserve. I love it and think you should too! Read on to find out why.
