A father in Georgia discovered a unique way to get hisdaughter to clean her room.
Craig Schlichenmeyermoved his daughter's bed, desk and computer to the front lawn after hisconstant pleas for the 17-year-old to clean her room fall on deaf ears.
A sign reading, "Haley, room moved to driveway, cleanit next time", lays among the girl's belongings.
"One day, I had enough of it and I just picked up herbelongings and I just set her room up in the driveway," he said.
His intent was not malicious, however. He did not wish topublicly humiliate his daughter, simply teach her a lesson.
"My intention was just to surprise her a little bit and lether know that we were serious about taking ownership and pride in her room andyou know, doing the right thing. When we tell her to clean it up, you need toclean it up," he said
Schlichenmeyer addedhis daughter is a great student, honor roll student, that he's very proud ofher. Her messy room was truly the only issue.
Granted, his daughter didn't totally get the raw end of the deal. Her fatherused the empty room as an opportunity to give it a new coat of paint.
