Posted: Updated:

She's visiting from the Big Apple - lifestyle expert and curator of Megan's Must Haves.com , Megan Meany , is here to share some of her observations about LA and her MUST HAVES for life in Tinsel Town!

(- ALL ITEMS AVAILABLE AT MEGAN'S MUST HAVES.com - )

Glycolix Sunscreen SPF 30 / $28

The sun never seems to stop shining here so I wouldn't not head out in LA LA land without top notch sunscreen. My go to brand when in LA is serious stuff. It has zinc oxide in it. In NYC I can get away with the spf in my moisturizer but not here! I need something stronger. Good for the kids too!

  • Formulated with Micronized Zinc Oxide to provide broad spectrum protection
  • Suitable for adults and children 6 months of age and over
  • Rich with vitamins A, C and E, Green Tea Extract and Co-Q10 for free-radical protection
  • Oil-free formulation provides up to 30 times your skin's natural defense

Babiators (Ages 0-3) $24

With all the sunshine in California you need to protect your children's eyes ! Babiators are the way to go. UVA/UVB protected. BPA free - which means if they use them like a pacifier it won't hurt them. They are suckable, bendable and unbreakable. Also handy for those run-ins with the paparazzi in LA!

Note: give Maria a pair for her new baby!

CUBEBOT $14.99

By Areaware

From Kitson

New York is a walking culture - here you drive everywhere! As a mom, I immediately think how would I entertain my kids in the car all the time. Enter: Cubebot. A wooden puzzle that my boys have back in NYC. This is great for California living because it entertains them for hours. Throw them in the back seat and see how long it will take them to turn the robot back into a cube.

Skull Bag / Kimberly Model $200+

Skull Ring / $45 Jessica Kagan Cushman $42

I'm staying at the Sunset Marquis.  My hotel is crawling with skull clad musicians!

These are my two favorite skull fashions to rock on the West Coast. The ring is solid brass with crystals. Also comes in gunmetal.

Graphic Workout Tights/ $50 by Hurley & Under Armour Zappos.com

black & white leopard & hot pink pattern pairs

In New York it's all about black and blending in to the urban landscape but in California you all seem to be taking hikes in green lush hills so colorful capris are the way to go - easier for someone to find you when you get lost in the woods!

Goop Plaid shirt $250

She may be going through a "conscious uncoupling" but I'm still very attached to gwenyth Paltrows fashion recommendations This is my go-to shirt from her blog Goop. It's perfect for LA because it's a good layering piece. Not too hot. Not too cool and it has that relaxed vibe that we haven't mastered in NYC.

Sutter Zachman had his first record deal when he was barely out of his teens. You may have seen the Orange County native was on stage at the Largo and other hot clubs around LA. He then left town...after what he called a few "bouts" with the music business, but now he is back with a new EP called ‘Repeat Offender.'
