Posted: Updated:

The Gopher women's hockeyteam made it to the NCAA Women's Frozen Four national championship game for thethird year in a row, and though they fell just short of a victory, these womenare proud of how far they've come.

Clarkson went home with a 5-4 win over Minnesota on March 23 after the Gophers just couldn't recover from a 5-3 deficit late in the third period.

Win or lose, senior Bethany Brausen said herteam left Quinnipiac's High Point Solutions Arena with a lot ofcharacter.

"I think that we had a good bout of confidence going into the game, and not tosay that we walked in there with any bit of arrogance whatsoever, but really alot of confidence, ever during the third period when we were down a couplegoals," she said. "we really came back and showed a lot of character. As muchas you don't like to get that loss at the end of the season, I think we showed alot of character there."

Theconclusion of the 2013-14 season means four seniors, Brausen, Kelly Terry,Sarah Davis and Baylee Gillanders, will have to say goodbye, but the team endedwith a 38-2-1 record, and that's certainly something to remember.
