CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. -

Cherokee County police are asking the public to be on the lookout tonight after a man driving a truck tried to lure a young boy.

The 12-year-old boy said he was approached as he was getting off the school bus in his Woodstock neighborhood. The boy told police that a man in a black pick-up truck drove up to him and told him that his father was in the hospital and asked him to get into his truck. The boy refused and ran home. Police said they were able to get pictures of a black Dodge pick-up truck from the school bus surveillance cameras.

Police said the truck could have some damage to the rear driver-side door. The boy gave police a description. He told police that the suspect is a middle-aged white male. He has gray hair and scruffy facial hair. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
