Snowy white Sasha, of canine comfort squad, dies

(KMSP) -

Over the years, Dave Kettering and his therapy dog, Sasha, spent thousands of hours comforting Minnesotans who were hurting, and now thousands are mourning the loss of the beloved white angel.

In late October, Kettering and Sasha announced a reluctant retirement after it became clear that 10 years of hopping up on beds and walking hospital hallways had taken their toll.

On Thursday, Kettering confirmed that the gentle, fluffy dog many described as an angel who sheds had died. Now, he says she is truly an angel.

Leave your condolences and say thank you to Sasha at http://on.fb.me/1phwXUp

The motto of the Department of Homeland Security is "see something, say something" -- and a group of Somali-Americans did just that when they thought a man was trying to recruit teens to fight in Syria.
