BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (KMSP) -

Bloomington police caught a suspect in an armed robbery at Sam's Club and several attempted carjackingings on I-494 Tuesday night.

The suspect, Michael David Henderson, was dressed in a Sam's Club vest posing as an employee. Police said Henderson was familiar with the store at 200 E. American Boulevard. Two security guards asked to check his bag after the store closed and he pulled out a handgun, pointing it at both security guards and pulled the trigger, but the gun didn't go off.

Henderson then ran across the freeway toward Richfield from the store just after 9 p.m. and attempted to carjack multiple vehicles on I-494, police said. Police eventually caught him and recovered a weapon and money taken during the robbery.

No one was injured during the incident. Bloomington police and the Hennepin County sheriff's office are continuing to investigate.

Henderson has been booked for attempted second-degree homicide, first-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
