Snowpack Continues to Dwindle Despite the Cold Temperatures

Another week down and our snow continues to melt. Not as fast as many of us would like to see as we are longing for things to begin to green. But the cold temperatures are allowing the snow to stick around longer than in previous years. The good news with the numbers is that the snow is melting at a slow pace which actually may prevent spring flooding in many areas all together. But, there is still plenty of spring to go. While this picture won't be changing much the next few days, we have lost another 20 to 50 percent of our snow this week with the metro down to a 4 to 8 inch pack and the North Country struggling to hold onto the 1 to 2 feet. Here is the latest snow cover map as compared to just one week ago.
