O'Hare International Airport is looking to hire an Aviation expert with a background in training.

Must possess an entrepreneurial self-starter style with start-up experience and ability to research and procure government funding.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for creating and implementing aviation workers training programs for both passenger and cargo operations and overseeing the development of truck drivers for aviation professional's career path. Sets performance metrics, evaluates productivity, and helps workers create long-term career plans within an organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Develop, implement, and monitor training programs within an organization.

-Conduct orientation sessions.

-Create brochures and training materials.

-Develop multimedia visual aids and presentations.

-Create testing and evaluation processes.

-Prepare and implement training budget.

-Evaluate needs of company and plan training programs accordingly.

-Conduct performance evaluations.

-Provide workers with classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.

-Provide performance feedback.

-Conduct continuing education training.

-Provide leadership development education.

-Build solid cross-functional relationships.

-Provide logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluation, process measurements, and cost management.

-Plan the implementation and facilitation of activities and events, budget spending, material production and distribution, and other resources to ensure that operations are managed within authorized budgets.

-Assist with the development of strategic plans.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises staff of classroom facilitators and technical training for staff. Responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring of employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

B.A. or B.S. Degree from a four-year college or university; and over seven years up to and including ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

- Quickbooks Accounting software

- MS Outlook Communication Management software

- MS Excel Spreadsheet software

- MS Word Processing software

- MS PowerPoint Presentation Software

- Internet Usage

- PC and/or MAC and Windows Usage experience

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS

- Valid State Driver's License

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Knowledge of the State Labor Code

- Familiarity with OSHA requirements

- Excellent verbal and written skills, organizational skills and customer service skills.

- Strong leadership skills

- Score at least 90% on the TAS Manager Test.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

- May occasionally be asked to run local errands.

- Security Clearance, (for airport security purposes) pass a 10-year background screening.

- Previous aviation training management experience required.
