Suspicious Package Found At Conshohocken Cigar Store

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. -

The bomb squad in Montgomery County is investigating a suspicious package spotted outside a Conshohocken business.

An alert officer spotted a bottle containing fluid and a towel stuffed inside it just outside a cigar shop on Fayette Street around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say the 40-ounce bottle, which appeared to be an un-lit Molotov cocktail, and a black backpack were on the top front step right outside the door of the business, which just opened over the weekend.

Threatening notes were also found on the shop's windows.

Residents living in four apartment units above the American Royalty Cigars shop were immediately evacuated as police investigated the situation. They were allowed back inside after the bomb squad deemed the bag's content safe.

Police say detectives collected evidence from the scene and are continuing to investigate.

FOX'S Sabina Kuriakose reported live Wednesday morning from Conshohocken with more details.
