BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (KMSP) -

The Mall of America presented new renderings of its $325 million expansion at a groundbreaking event Tuesday morning.

When construction is finished in August of 2015, the expansion will include a luxury hotel, an office tower and more retail space.

BY THE NUMBERS

-$325 million for the project
-50 new stores and restaurants
-$240 million in construction work in 18 months
-1,000 construction jobs
-20 million more visitors each year
-$1.5 billion leveraged in private investment
-180,000 square-foot office tower
-2,500 permanent retail, hotel, office jobs
