Winter Weather Advisory: Metro could see 2 to 5 inches of snow

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Sloppy snow hangs across the northern and western part of the state in the Winter Storm Warning zone while the metro will see a rain/snow mix as a Winter Weather Advisory kicks in Tuesday afternoon.

TIMELINE

Tuesday afternoon: A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in Tuesday afternoon in the metro. Expect sloppy and slushy snow tonight into early tomorrow morning.

Tuesday evening: Sloppy snow continues. The folks in the Winter Warning Zone will see 6"-10"+, the Advisory Zone will stay in the 2"-5" range. 

Wednesday morning: Sloppy snow continues into Wednesday morning.

Wednesday afternoon: The sky will slowly clear Wednesday afternoon as temperatures peak in the mid to upper 30s for the next couple of days. 

Thursday: We welcome spring on Thursday with highs closer to 40 with some sunshine.
