WINTER WEATHER: Slushy conditions expected in metro

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

The Winter Storm Watch for the Metro has been downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory with rain and snow mix expected to appear late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night.

TUESDAY OUTLOOK

 

A major winter storm will impact the region late tonight through Wednesday morning. Moderate to heavy snow will develop late tonight across central Minnesota and spread southward across western Minnesota through the day. The snow will gradually shift eastward through Tuesday night.

- Purple shaded counties: Accumulations of 6" to 10"+ inches possible in the Winter Storm Warning area

- Blue shaded counties: Accumulations of 3" to 5" possible in the Winter Weather Advisory area, including the metro.


TIMELINE

Monday night: Heavy snow develops across central Minnesota

Tuesday night: The snow will gradually shift eastward, rain and snow mix expected

Wednesday morning: Rain and snow mix continues, sloppy commute possible
