A Phoenix Police officer was injured at a police standoff near 7th Street and Union Hills, while working to apprehend a suspect who reportedly had taken mushrooms.

Police responded to the home after receiving calls about a fight.  Officers say 29-year-old Bobby Keen told an approaching officer that he needed help, then stated he was "just kidding" and punched the officer in the face.  An officer deployed a taser twice, police say, but Keen broke the wires on the device while trying to pull it away.

According to police, Keen ran into the home and a perimeter was set up and canines were called to the home.  When Keen came out of the home, he moved toward officers, who fired four stun bag rounds at him with no effect.  Once officers got inside the home with a canine, they were able to take Keen into custody.

Police are saying the suspect was taken to a nearby hospital for observation, and that a witness told them that the man had taken mushrooms.
