Standoff ends, Henry Co. murder suspect arrested

HAMPTON, Ga. -

Police say the man who was wanted in connection to the murder of a Henry County woman was arrested in the Chicago area after a chase and a long standoff.

The Henry County Police Department tells FOX 5 News that 43-year-old Joseph Andrew Felton, Jr. is now being charged with the murder of his wife, Sheray Latriest Felton. She was found dead inside a home on Spaniel Terrace near Hampton on Saturday. Authorities alerted police in the Chicago area where Felton is known to have ties.

Police believe they caught up to Felton in Harvey, Illinois after a chase and dramatic standoff on Lake Shore Drive. A spokesperson for the Harvey Police Department tells FOX 32 News that the subject is wanted in connection to a murder.

Investigators say that the address where the victim was found dead has a history of domestic violence and Felton is known by police to have violent tendencies.

Police believe Felton may be in a black 4-door Chrysler 300 with a sunroof. The car has Illinois tag of 181441EN. It was unclear if this was the vehicles involved in the incident in Illinois.
