MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

An SUV stolen from a SuperAmerica gas station in Brooklyn Center, Minn. crashed into a house in Minneapolis late Thursday night, putting an end to a high-speed chase.

"It sounded like a cannon went off," said Joseph Cook, who was studying inside the home at 47th Avenue N. and Osseo Road. "The whole house just shook."

Cook said he immediately ran to the bedroom where his girlfriend was sleeping and kicked down the door to see if she was okay.

"One of the walls came down on her," he said. "Everybody's alive, God bless."

Brooklyn Center police said the keys were left inside the stolen GMC Yukon when it was parked at the gas station.
