COLD CASE: Hit-and-run-bike crash killed Minikahda Club employee

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

A $1,000 reward has been offered as Minneapolis police revive the case of a 2008 hit-and-run bike crash that killed Minikahda Country Club employee Jim Nisser on his ride to work.

Minneapolis police say paint chips recovered from the crash scene at Excelsior Boulevard and W. 32nd Street indicate Nisser, 68, was hit by a 1996-98 light brown Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Investigators hope a body shop may recall working on a Jeep matching the description.

The suspect driver may have been drunk or just panicked at the time of the crash, and police hope they may be ready to come forward for closure.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers either by calling 1-800-222-8477 or texting TIP674 and the information to 274637. Tips can also be made online at crimestoppersmn.org.
