HARRISON TWP., Mich. (WJBK) -- Authorities say the body of a man has been discovered at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Macomb County.

Michigan State Police says the body of a man believed to be between 20 and 30 years old was discovered Thursday morning by a military member on the west side of the base in Macomb County's Harrison Township, outside of a base building.

Lt. Philip Menna says the man appears to have jumped the fence leading from a swampy area onto the base.

Menna says no signs of foul play are apparent and the cause of death is under investigation.

Menna says the body had a slim build with a red Detroit Red Wings sweatshirt, blue jeans and light-colored boots. No identification was found on the body.

The base says a brief lockdown was issued after the body was found around 7:30 a.m. Operations are back to normal at the base and the U.S. Air Force says it's stepped up security.

About 1,700 people work on the base which provides air support for the military.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-877-616-4677.
