What will the generation after Millennials be called?

What will the generation after the Millennials be called? That was the question with no real answer when the Pew Research Center's Paul Taylor appeared on The Daily Show.

Taylor was promoting his new book, The Next America: Boomers, Millennials, and the Looming Generational Showdown, which led to this exchange:

Stewart: "Is there a generation beneath the Millennials?"

Taylor: "If you can name the generation beneath the Millennials, I will take you out to lunch, because usually it's magazine cover writers who figure that out."

WHO ARE THE MILLENNIALS?

Generations typically span about 20 years. While Millennials don't have a precise date range, the generation is typically considered to include birth dates from the early 1980s to 2000.

"I'm thinking the 12-year-old out there is somebody different," Taylor said to Stewart.

WHO ARE THE POST-MILLENNIALS?

The Pew Research Center hasn't adopted a nickname for the next generation, saying "their identities are still forming," but it hasn't stopped marketers from giving birth to these suggestions:

- Digital Natives (for technology)

- Rainbow Generation (for diversity)

- Homelanders (for growing up post-9/11)

There's a big misconception about food vendors at the Minnesota State Fair. Many people think you can set up a booth, work 12 days and make a pile of cash. But it's not that easy. Aside from a lot of hard work, it also takes some luck.
