Sinkhole, water main break slows motorists in Royal Oak

Posted: Updated:

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WJBK) -- Motorists were slowed by a water main break and sinkhole along 11 Mile Road in Royal Oak Wednesday.

The sinkhole is between Woodward Avenue and Main Street. Traffic on the eastbound side of 11 Mile was down to one lane at South Pleasant.

Crews on the scene were able to restore water to area businesses around 4 p.m. They plan to have the water main break fixed by later Wednesday evening.

Repairing the road and sidewalk will take more time.
