There is a lot of talk about 50 lately. This past Monday we hit our first 50 of the year and not too long before that we hit our 50th zero in the Twin Cites. That 50th was not golden but it did put the Metro in the top 5 for going negative in a winter season.
A lot of you may be asking yourself, "Are we done with the negative talk this winter?", and the answer to that is "Most Likely". Yes, I know it is kind of riding the fence, but its the truth. We have had a zero reading here in the metro as late as March 31st. It was just a few years ago when we had a negative number in March, March 2, 2011 to be exact, when we bottomed out at -3°. However, for the most part, time is running out.
looking ahead, the long range charts are not giving us any more shots from the Polar Vortex. The weather pattern seems to be a bit more Pacific these days, and that is good news for those of us wanting to put the winter season 2013-2014 behind us. Stay Tuned.
