MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Prosecutors have filed felony aggravated robbery charges against a man accused of using a racial slur before punching an 8-year-old boy in the face and stealing his iPad -- an incident caught on video.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County on Monday, 32-year-old Aaron Wayne Stillday was arrested after Minneapolis police were dispatched to the intersection of 28th Street and Nicollet Avenue South on Thursday afternoon in response to a report that a man was being chased by a group of Somali men.

Upon arrival, police met Stillday, who told officers the men were chasing him for no reason.

Charging documents state that investigators learned the pursuit began after Stillday punched an 8-year-old boy in the face and stole his iPad.

Police spoke with the boy, who said he was carrying his iPad while walking out of daycare with his aunt when Stillday approached and said, "Give me that, n-----."

Surveillance footage from the area shows Stillday punch the boy in the face and then run down Nicollet Avenue with the device, according to the criminal complaint. Police say the video shows the boy laying motionless for a few seconds after he was struck, and he was bleeding profusely from his nose.

The boy's mother took him to the hospital, and police took Stillday into custody.

On Monday, Stillday was charged with one count of felony first-degree aggravated robbery, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.

There's a big misconception about food vendors at the Minnesota State Fair. Many people think you can set up a booth, work 12 days and make a pile of cash. But it's not that easy. Aside from a lot of hard work, it also takes some luck.
