2-year-old's FaceTime call saves mom after dog bite

TUCSON, Ariz. -

2-year-old Bentley Toone has a history of making prank phone calls on FaceTime with his mom's iPhone, but the Tucson, Ariz. toddler's know-how turned into a potential life-saver after his mom was badly bitten by a dog.

Laura Toone said she was out for a walk when a foster dog she is caring for attacked her other dog. When she tried to break-up the scuffle, she was bitten and nearly lost a finger.

Toone asked her daughters to call 911, but they were too squeamish to touch the blood-covered phone. At that point, 2-year-old Bentley grabbed a towel, wiped off the phone and called his mom's friend over FaceTime.

"Something inside of me just told me that I needed to answer this FaceTime," Connie Guerrero told ABC News. "All I could see was his little forehead and I said, ‘Hi, Bentley,' and it was quiet for a little bit and then I hear Laura screaming."

Guerrero called 911 and young Bentley stepped up once again to unlock the door when firefighters arrived.
