MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Monday morning felt a lot like baseball season in Minneapolis. At 9 a.m., the grounds crew will begin to remove the layers of snow from Target Field to prep for the upcoming Twins season.

Inch by inch, the grounds crew took snow blowers to the field, and they will eventually haul the snow to the back parking lot to melt it with a Snow Dragon.

The entire process should last the entire week, then, crews will crank up the heat and start warming up the soil. That means fans will soon see green grass for the first time in 6 months.

The Twins will open the season on the road against the Chicago White Sox (March 31, April 2-3) then head to Cleveland against the Indians (April 4-6).

Opening Series at Target field will kick off on April 7, 9 and 10 (less than a month away!) with a matchup against the Oakland Athletics, followed by a series against the Kansas City Royals (April 11-13) and then against the Toronto Blue Jays (April 15-17). Tickets are still available.
