2 dogs, 2 cats die in Chicago Lawn fire

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Four pets died in a fire in the South Side Chicago Lawn neighborhood Thursday morning.

The blaze in a residential building in the 6300 block of South Washtenaw Avenue was extinguished by 9:10 a.m., according to Fire Media Affairs.

No one was injured, but two dogs and two cats died because of heavy smoke, according to Fire Media.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
