Frostbitten stray cat loses ears, but ready for adoption at Animal Humane Society

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. (KMSP) -

A 2-year-old stray cat named Bear lost her ears to frostbite, but she was rescued from the dangerous Minnesota winter cold and is now ready for adoption at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley, Minn.

"Sweet little Bear arrived with severe frostbite to her ears and tail," AHS wrote in a Facebook post. "She was a stray out in this brutal winter, until a kind person found her and brought her to us for care. Her ears and tail are still healing but are no longer painful. In fact, while taking this photo she was trying to give gentle, little headbutts"
