A fast moving Upper level trough generated a large swath of moderate snowfall mainly South of a line from Appleton to Glencoe to Zumbrota during the evening and overnight hours Tuesday into early Wednesday. Heavier snowfall amounts in the 6 to near 10 inch range also occurred in a narrow band over portions of far Southern Minnesota. This had a huge impact on a small area which could have easily been the metro if it ended up further northwest.
