Four arrested, lockdown lifted at Paulding County schools

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. -

Four people have been arrested following a police pursuit that caused three Paulding County schools to be locked down on Thursday morning.

According to the Paulding County Sheriff's office, South Paulding High School, Connie Dugan Elementary and Austin Middle were placed on lockdown due to a vehicle pursuit that started in Carroll County and ended near the schools.

Authorities conducted a brief search for suspects in the area and all three schools were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure. 

The suspects were apprehended in a wooded area near the schools.

No word on the cause of the initial pursuit.
